The Hunger Game by Suzanne Collins.

I am currently reading this book. I originally heard about from other nerdfighters on youtube or reading blogs and when I was taking my usual walk through chapters, yes i do this a lot, I saw the book and couldn't resist getting it.

This story depicts a US of the future where twelve district are controlled by reality TV. The Hunger Games feature glamorous opening ceremonies, sponsorship, personal interviews and end in a fight to the death.

Normally district 12 tributes do not receive much attention but this time it all changed when Katniss volunteers to take the place of her little sister Prim in the games and Peeta declares his loves for her during the interviews.

This is what I think of reality TV, people sometimes making fools of themselves on TV for the sole entertainment of the viewers. This is basically the reason I refuse to watch all the reality TV shows produced nowadays. Where is the creativity? It is all the same formula, plus I do not find people making fools of themselves remotely entertaining.

This book can be a satiric look at what the US and entertainment has become. Not to the degree of ending in the deaths of the people participating in the reality TV show but all the same.

As well as a look at how the rich always get richer in the US and the poor are usually forgotten or left to die sometimes when the health care system is concerned.

The Hunger Games can be a look at the health care system where the rich who have all the insurance coverage they want in order to get health care and the poor have to fight just to get basic treatments and often times they are denied care for stupid reasons.

I love this book and I do recommend it to anyone.
