So behind on my reading 50 books this year

All right, I just found a list of books I made for myself and planning to read 50 books in a year. I am not certain this goal will happen, I am soooooooooo behind.

Sadly I may have to accept defeat, there is no way I can reach that goal. Moral of the story, set a smaller goal next time. Sigh. Unless a miracle was to happen.

Book Review: "Les filles de Caleb" trilogy

A couple of years ago, when I was in high school, I read this book trilogy. At the time I thought there only was two books. To my surprised I recently discovered the third one. The story is real, the characters existed in real life, and it was also adapted for TV as a miniserie called Les Filles de Caleb. Originally a Quebec production and later translated to english and played on the CBC network in Canada. This is basically the story of three generation of really strong (not to say stubborn at times) women who always knew what they wanted in life and despite having to struggle with the time, constraints and people telling them you should do this and that as this is the proper way for a woman to act, they managed to realize their dreams and stick to their beliefs never to let a man tell them what they should do or how they should act. Book Review: A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snickett

Dear Reader, I am warning you that if you have chosen to read this blog, then it isn’t too late to back out and go read something else for you are about to find out that there is nothing about this blog entry that will be pleasant, it is nothing but misery, despair and discomfort and you still can go search for another blog that will be more pleasant to read. As this blog entry is to talk about my love for all the lemony snickett book serie that I am currently eating up as if it was corn on the cob – and you all know how much I love corn on the cob – I must say even though the stories are mainly about all the misery and dire situations that befall on the three Baudelaire children, these books keep one reading and wanting to know more. Book Review: Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel

Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel I read this book two or perhaps three years ago. This is a truly amazing story of a character that can be considered the first feminist. Women struggling to be treated as an equal to the male of her clan. Having to deal with the reproched of the other women and the anger of most of the males of her clan. All this because she wanted to be allowed to hunt. The main character can also be considered the first women to be raped, Although in these times it was known that if the males wanted to satisfy their sexual urges, the women were expected to accept without resistance. Which today we would all find this barbaric as we have the concept of choice, the women have the right to choose and decide whether they want to or not and the "no means no" is respected, well most of the times as, unfortunetaly, too many women are still victims of rape.
